Who is KT Speetzen, and Why Should You Care?

Before we begin, let’s get a few things out-of-the-way. KT is not:

• Beyoncé (I know, I’m sad too)

• super tall

• a Cubs nor a Sox fan, which causes issues in her Chicago neighborhood

• Creator of The Mother Cluckers comedy troupe

• a 20+ year comic with storytelling and stand-up training

• a Nationally Board Certified Educator with her Masters in Teaching and has taught at both the university and middle school level

• a former Associate Producer for A&E, The History Channel, and National Geographic Channel

• a hoot and a delight

Storytelling and Training for Your Business

Storytelling: For More Than Just the Campfire

Storytelling has been the cornerstone of the human experience for millennia. It’s how we connect, share new ideas, and develop communities. Storytelling is not only the way to resonate with consumers, but the way teams can best engage with one another. Whether you’re looking to reach hundreds of clients with a keynote address, emerge as a leader in your field, inspire those you work with or just engage in a more meaningful way with coworkers, comedic storytelling ensures you are dynamically delivering your message.

This Is Going to Help Us How, Exactly?

From a macro level, comedic story telling brings firms and clients together through innate bonding experiences. When you tell someone a story, especially a humorous one, they invest with you, and at the same time, you become memorable. The more someone gets to know you personally, the more they want to champion you and retain the relationship. Comedic storytelling can also help with those awkward one-on-one client experiences – the close the sale dinner, the cold call. The better versed a person is in comedic storytelling, the quicker they can connect with clients and develop a long-lasting business partnership.

However, comedic storytelling has an impact beyond the client relationship. Scientific studies have proven that people who laugh at work are more productive, creative, and oh yeah, happier! By embracing comedic storytelling and comedy training, your team can become better collaborators and create a more cohesive work environment.

Whether you’re looking to hone your public speaking skills, make positive and meaningful connections with clients or co-workers, or just bring more joy to your workday, comedic storytelling training is beneficial to businesses at any level.

About KT

KT Speetzen is the CEO of Mother Cluckers Comedy, LLC and the founder of Chicago’s The Mother Cluckers Comedy Troupe. KT’s passion for comedy began as a wee tyke by binging on SNL, ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS, Margaret Cho specials, and pretty much anything she could get her hands on. Beginning her comedy career at 16 in Los Angeles stand-up, KT continued her comedy education at Northwestern University where she performed with NSTV. KT continues to perform in the Chicagoland area with various comedy troupes, including her own: The Mother Cluckers.

In addition, KT earned her Masters in Education from DePaul University and has taught at both the middle school and university level. KT’s love of comedy was essential to connecting with her students and made the days a lot of fun. While teaching for the Chicago Public Schools KT earned her National Board Teaching Certificate, which designated her a Master Teacher, the highest teaching credential currently available for educators. Prior to teaching, KT was an Associate Producer for documentary programming for A&E, The History Channel, and The National Geographic Channel.

KT has been a featured speaker for businesses and entrepreneurs throughout the country, and has taught a storytelling course on the importance of returning narrative to underserved communities for Illinois State University education fellows. KT lives in Chicago with her family and Ginger, The Wonder Pup.
